Badlands is a name given to any rugged, deeply-erroded terrain. Canada's "Badlands" are located in Alberta, and are considered among the most beautiful in the world.

Formed by great rivers which flowed in the area over 70 million years ago, the Badlands are rich in fossil remains of countless ancient animals and plants.

The Badlands' official name is Dinosaur Provincial Park and is also the home of the world famous Royal Tyrrell Museum.
