Ally Hayden

Ally Hayden I'm Ally Hayden. I guess you could call me a dino-freak. I'm obsessed with the study of dinosaurs....how they lived, evolved and eventually died-out. When I daydream, I dream of dinosaurs.

It's hard to believe that dinosaurs really lived but they did! These giant reptiles really walked and swam and flew! ...Maybe right there, where you're standing, two dinosaurs fought to the death...Or maybe a Deinonychus was guarding its eggs from a hungry predator.

I probably inherited my interest in dinosaurs from my dad, Dr. Donald Hayden. He's the head of Paleontology at the Natural History Museum.

Right now, Dad is digging in the Badlands for dinosaur fossils. I wish I could be there but according to my Dad, I'm too young. Until I'm old enough to join a dig, there will always be plenty of cool dinosaur stuff to check out at the natural history museum and at the library.

I'm interested in all kinds of dinosaurs but Tyrannosaurus Rex (T-Rex for short) is my all-time favorite. I imagine being face to face with a 20-foot tall, 15-ton T-Rex, watching him hunt his prey. Maybe snatching a giant Pterodactyl out of mid-air with its giant teeth. When he walks, the ground shakes and all the other animals in the forest quiet down and hide. I'd give anything to be able to witness it firsthand!
